David Finlay, the farmer who features in A Dairy Story, is a fourth generation dairy farmer based in south west Scotland whose pioneering work in regenerative, high-welfare dairy is increasingly being recognised by the industry. Rainton, David’s farm, is the farm that proved cow-with-calf dairy could be done at commercially viable scale.

Jon is the co-founder of Dora’s Dairy, a small grass-fed raw milk dairy near Swindon in Wiltshire. His farm runs a cow calf system where calves stay with their mothers and cows are milked in a low pressure environment focused on animal welfare.

Dr Sean Wensley

Research and Policy Advisor at Compassion in World Farming

Dr Sean Wensley works on animal welfare research, policy and advocacy, with over a decade of experience in the charity sector. He was President of the British Veterinary Association and chaired the Animal Welfare Working Group of the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and an Honorary Lecturer in Animal Welfare at Queen’s University Belfast.
